Autoware’s Official Mascot Revealed: The Horse 🐴
After weeks of creativity, community discussions, and voting rounds, we’re excited to announce that Autoware’s first-ever mascot has been chosen: the Horse! 🎉
How We Got Here
The mascot journey started with a simple question to our community: “If Autoware had a mascot, what should it be?”
From GitHub discussions to social media polls, dozens of creative ideas poured in, from clever animals to futuristic concepts.
Some of the most popular contenders included:
- 🕷️ Spider — Agile, clever, and inspired by Autoware’s web-like logo.
- 🦉 Owl — Wise and watchful, representing sharp navigation skills.
- 🚗 Car “Dash” — A cute, lively car with eyes that could blink into sensors.
- 👤 Autoware-kun — A geeky, anime-inspired character symbolizing Autoware’s Japanese roots.

- 🐱 Cat — Curious and agile, the cat is playful and smart. A perfect companion for exploration.
And of course…
- 🐴 Horse — A timeless symbol of movement, strength, and reliability.
The Final Round
We narrowed the field to five finalists and invited the community to vote one last time. Across all polls, one mascot stood out consistently: the Horse.
In the final vote, it received 30% of the total votes, making it the clear favorite among the community.
Why the Horse?
The horse has always been humanity’s trusted partner in mobility, carrying us forward across centuries. For Autoware, it symbolizes the same values: strength, reliability, and partnership in building the future of autonomous driving.
What’s Next?
This is only the beginning. The official Horse mascot will now be crafted from scratch and designed in line with Autoware’s branding, community spirit, and creative soul. The final polished design will be revealed soon, and we can’t wait to share it with you. 👀
